Re: nikon d60
Sun, September 27, 2009 - 11:30 PMAny camera really would be fine, so you need to ask what you want, how much you want to spend, and more. Also, do you have any equipment now, especially lenses, that would fit either Nikon or something else? Decent lenses can determine your upgrade or brand decision.
One of the differences of the D60 compared to some of the other cameras is that it does not have a focusing motor in the body, and as such the lens choices are somewhat limited (a bunch of the Nikons work this way). You can find just about any lens for it, but it will have to have the motor in the lens or it will need to be manually focused (type 'G' and or 'D' do not have an autofocus motor). There are other designations and some of the other participants will hopefully elaborate. Check the market to see what you might want - new or used - and determine if lenses will be affordable for you.
The D60 also uses SD and SDHC cards, which are what most of the newer bodies are using, so one less thing to change if you upgrade.
It's a good camera and easy to learn with. You can check out all the specs at Nikonusa.com, www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your...etail.page
