jeez, how the world turns. At one time, when you were so thrilled with an inanimate object, the superlative was, "I'd marry it."

Yeah. But only *inanimate* objects. If our Stef were an avid horseman, I bet he wouldn't be talking about raping his horse.

          At least, I hope.

By the same token, few have wanted to *marry* their horses... ;-)

Probably not. If you want to experiment with IR (infrared) photography, you can do it with an extra filter (e.g. R72, R90) on the front of the lens, and long exposures. Helluva lot cheaper than getting a camera converted!

        BUT...

Some find they so enjoy IR shooting that they get an aftermarket house to remove a filter on the sensor of their dSLR, and convert it permanently to IR use. Obviously, this' d void any manufacturer's warranty...

        - Steve

p.s. - See, the thing about "the rape thing" is, it's not really about sex; it's about violence. Most of us, even if we "violently desire" another, get turned *off* by doing real harm to the person we desire; getting slightly "rough" in bed tends to be enough to satisfy most. Even folks who pursue s&m (which looks "violent" to outsiders) are aware of the mutual consent and desire, and strive *NOT* to do real harm. Those who study convicted rapists in prison have concluded that it's really not a *sex* drive for most of 'em.
But this is all getting *WAY* off-topic for the Digital SLR' tribe...
